Nearly $150 per month for this drug? Wouldn’t it make sense for an insurance company to pay that much for a gym membership for a couple of months to see if that works for prediabetes and Type II Diabetes first? Since insulin resistance is stopped in its track by regular exercise and a healthy diet, it would certainly make sense for an individual with pre-diabetes to give that a shot first.

With drugs such as Januvia, or any other drug taken daily for the rest of one’s life, there must be a risk that the body will adapt to the extra “help” by downregulating the systems affected by the drug.

If Januvia helps lower blood sugar by telling the liver to stop secreting glucose, won’t the liver lose what little ability it has to do the same thing by itself? If the pancreas is urged to secrete more insulin by the drug, won’t it stop doing so on its own?

And if this downregulation happens, won’t that make it impossible for a person to get off the drugs by utilizing a system like the HRH Program? These drugs may not be psychologically addictive, but your body may not work at all if you stop using them, which is the same thing.
