Obesity An Epidemic

Waistlines keep expanding in 31 states

The statistics on obesity going up so quickly are truly frightening. A 1.1% increase in obesity rates means that something like two million more American adults fell into the red zone last year. It’s astonishing, almost becoming a self-fulfilling prophecy that we’ll all be fat before too long.

Colorado, my home state, remains the leanest. Every day, I see people out walking, riding their bikes, running in the parks–and that doesn’t include the people going to the mountains for hiking, etc.

Fall is the best time of year to be outside as far as I’m concerned. It’s not 95 degrees anymore, and there’s nothing like the wind blowing a few crackling leaves under your feet. Let’s get outside people! Geez!
